Differential Calculus & Optimisation — Final Paper 1 Session
Online and in person · Tutor's home · lansdowne
The tutor works through past exam questions on one topic, start to finish.
Maths paper 1
The last session before Paper 1 on Friday. Differential calculus is the other big section, worth about 35 marks. We cover first principles, the rules of differentiation, tangents, cubic graphs and stationary points, and optimisation and rate-of-change problems, showing the working that earns method marks. Includes real NSC past-paper practice with the official memos.

About police clearance
We ask every tutor where they stand on a SAPS police clearance certificate and show you their answer. We don't require one, so most tutors on UpMark won't have one — it costs money and can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months to get.
Every tutor has their South African ID confirmed, and we check they're qualified in the subject they applied for — by a distinction at matric, a teaching qualification, a degree, or university modules in the field. That happens before they take a single lesson, whether or not they have a clearance.
A SAPS certificate shows criminal convictions. It doesn't cover a child-protection finding, so it isn't a complete picture on its own.
For in-person lessons you're welcome to ask a tutor about it directly, or pick one with a verified certificate if that's what you'd prefer.
About your tutor
I focus on the core fundamentals and explain why things work, not just how. I use plenty of examples and give insight into everything you need to know for each topic. I also teach you how to approach questions, with a clear methodology you can apply to any problem.
